Washed some of my toys and took pictures

Nice weekend clean up for some of my babies...

Then I did what anybody with a bike should do, and met up with a friend for some twisty-road, knee-dragging fun...

    Depends...

If you are talking about my ZX-10R vs my Ducati Diavel...

The ZX-10R is pushing 181 at the wheel and weighs 420 wet...
The Diavel is about 140 at the wheel and weighs 490 wet...

BUT the Diavel will spank the Ninja to about 100 mph and likely make it through the 1/4 mile faster. The long wheel base and MONSTER torque make it one of the easiest bikes to launch. Most magazines run high nines like 9.95 @ 135 ish....

The Ninja will top 100 in first gear. A professional rider can get it through the traps around 9.7 @ 150ish.. But the short wheel base, high-reving engine, and race stiff suspension makes getting a good launch an art form. Either the tire spins up or the bike tries to flip. The Ninja will loft the front tire at 140 mph, easily.

I got the Diavel because I really wanted a cruiser, but if I`m spending 20k on a bike, I want it to be exotic and perform well - basically the opposite of a Harley Davidson.. It`s almost not fair to compare the Diavel to a sports bike, but compared to a Harley, the numbers are like this...

Harley - 1800 cc, 70ish horsepower at the wheel, 750 lbs..
Ducati - 1200 cc, 140ish horsepoewr at the wheel, 495 lbs...

The last picture shows my friend`s Ducati Panigale and my ZX-10R. Both bikes are neck and neck in terms of horsepower (181ish at the wheel) but the Ducati is about 15 lbs lighter and has more torque. It`s still anybodies race.. But a Ducati Panigale TriColore is my next bike, I`ve already started shopping.

BMW and Kawasaki are having demo days in Orlando in October (AIM Expo) and I`d love to ride the Z1000 and S1000R.

There`s a KTM dealer across the street and they showed me a custom RC8 with a lot of work done to it. It had Ohlins suspension and a ton of other upgrades for the track. It felt like it weighed 5 lbs when I swayed it from side to side. I`d love to try one out one day.

Hard not to look at KTM`s with the orange and black but it does look pretty cool. Those are some awesome looking rides Todd and all really clean!
