Ferrari 430: Engine Makeover - 02-11-2010, 06:07 PM

I posted up a few weeks ago a Porsche Cayman that we had done a thorough engine detailing, painting plus added a clear glass cover and also some LED lights to show off the engine work. Well we just completed a similar job on a Ferrari 430 minus the engine painting.

It did receive a thorough detailing though plus a two tone lighting system in the rear engine bay instead of just white LEDs.

We have posted some pictures of this job in our blog.

As awesome as engine bay lighting is...I'm more impressed with the two foot long creases that disappeared on the green Ford SuperCrew!

You think a Paintless Dent Repair shop can do something with this? (look by the left taillight)

Wifey and I have been living with this since we got the truck. I figured it was useless to try and fix it, so we left it as is.

It's hard to tell from the picture if it can be repaired 100%. Looks like the crease goes through the lif of the quarter where the tail light is. This lip can be pushed back out only if the back dosn't have a tail light bucket spot welded to it. If so the then you could be looking at just minimizing the damage in this area from the lip to aprox 3/4" back. Good access to the rest of the crease is important is the repair is going to look good.

Where do you live? I will post a request a tech thread in a pdr forum I belong to. We will need a couple of close up's of the damage to post as well.

Malone is about a half hour north of Waco. A good 3-4 hours from SA. That crease does go right to the edge of the taillight and it did crack the taillight. I'll get some better pictures in a few hours when we go into town and post them when we get back.

that is a body shop crease. there is a double panel around that tail light housing and you will not be able to access it .Also you have a crease and a dent..which means the metal is stretched. You might be be able to improve it some..but likely you would have some tool marks in the metal.I would go the body shop route ,unless you just want to improve it more than it is.

There is a way to shrink the metal if it is stretched with the PDR method.

A good PDR person can do a dent like that and not leave tool marks.

this is true..but I don't think on this particular repair.as the crease in the tail light area is too sharp and it is on a double panel.
