Sully's Detailing: Old School Beetle for VolksBlast - 01-28-2010, 09:50 AM

South Florida Detailing
There is a big air cooled Euro meet this weekend in Miami. This is one of two cars I am detailing for the show. This car has single stage paint on it. The White looked great but the blue was oxidized and swirled out. The owner of the car just wanted a 1-step correction because that what was in his budget.

Wash: Megs Deep Crystal mixed with Poor Boys Super Sud
Clay: Pinnacle
Clay lube: Pinnacle
Wheels/Tires: DP Wheel Gel
Polish:M205
Pads: LC Tang. Hydro
LSD: Souveran Paste

Before: As you can see the oxidation and swirls on the rear fender

After: The oxidation is gone and swirls are to

Before: Swirls on the roof

After: As you can see most of the swirls where removed with just the M

50/50 shot: It a little hard to see because the lighting wasn't the best. But if you look at the pictures you can see that the polished side is much clear looking then the non polished
Left half polished

Top half Polished

Left Side Polished

I'm with both of ya'll. I really dig the Bug. I especially like the paint scheme on this one. Never owned one of the air-cooled models, but Mrs. Clean opted for the VW NB Turbo S some years back. Not quite the same, but...

How long have you been using the Hydro-Tech pads? Do you also have the Blue? What are you opinions as to performance as compared to the CCS (marketing information places its cutting just below the orange light cutting, but states that it finishes out better). Are there really any noticeable differences?
