Lotus Elise 60th Anniversary Edition - 12-15-2009, 09:38 PM

One of my favorite clients got a couple new toys recently.

Some of you guys might remember the Blue Lotus I posted up a couple of years ago. Well this was what he traded that one in for.

The smiling Lotus. Isn't that a karate move?

This looked bad but corrected fairly easy. Meguiar's 105 with a LC white polishing pad. Two passes is all it took with the FLEX. Speed was 4 in tight spots and 5 everywhere else.

Followed with some Poorboy's EX by hand. I know I'm not one to use carnaubas but I gotta show Steve some love and I have left over stock. This car stays in the garage most all the time.

The Lotus was not the only car I worked on today. His other new acquisition is this Lamborghini Gallardo -

Nobody can say white cars are boring when they see this car. Out of all the cars I do this one is my favorite. I would look good in it don't you think?

Doing these nice cars almost made me forget I was working (and sweating) in 80 degree Christmas weather.

Here's a few more pics -

I cringe when I see this kinda stuff...

I did a before pic of this area but I must have deleted it off my camera somehow cuz it's gone. Here's the after anyhow. Trust me it looked bad before.

One more after shot. The Lambo is calling to me to get in and drive it!

Beautiful job !!!!!

Straight 105, with no chaser?

Elise is a great little car, track ready right out of the showroom. I was thinking about getting one for the track.

No additional steps other than the PB EX. The after close-ups were before the PB EX. I will confess that I added some PB White Diamond (1 to 4) to my 105. Before you guys say "ah ha! So it's glazed!" Let me explain why I do this. It makes the 105 work better for me. I can buff it longer and It buffs cleaner. The 105 still retains most of it's polishing power. The only draw back to doing this is the glaze can fool you into thinking you're done correcting. This is common with a lot of polishes too. A quick IPA wipe down will tell you your progress though.

Other than some intricate areas giving me a little challenge, the paint buffed out real easy.

Neat idea. I guess between the white pad and the White Diamond, it finished down really really nice and no need for a finer polish.

Gotta try this.

Such beautiful cars and what a great job you did, as always. How can one person own both cars?! Amazing.

He owns the Dino and AC Bristol that I posted up a while back too as well as his daily drivers a BMW X5 and a Bentley Continental GT. That's his collection here. He has other cars up north.

I feel sorry for the guy don't you?

Very sweet cars Troy - I pity you and your 80 degree December weather. You have it rough.
