Erich's Auto Detailing: Honda CR-V - 11-22-2009, 07:49 PM

This was some of the worst paint I have ever seen or dealt with. If you could have seen all the scratches and swirls you would have thought it was washed with a rake on a regular basis. You can see how awful it is in the before pictures, but they don't even do the justice. I gave them some washing tips, so I hope I wont have to do any correction on this car for awhile.

Wash and Clay Process:
-CAR Products Sud'Sational Shampoo
-Sonus Ultra-Fine Clay
-Hand Dried with MF

Rims&Tires:
-CAR Products Kling-On on rims
-CAR Products Blast on tires
-CAR Products Sparkleberry Dressing on tires

Interior:
-Dressed With CAR Products Sparkleberry
-Windows cleaned with Sprayaway
-CAR Products Orchard Breeze Odor Eliminator

Paint Correction:
CAR Products Razor Cut 1000 w/wool pad and rotary
SSR3 Yellow Pad with PC
SSR2 White Pad with PC

LSP:
2 Coats Natty's Blue

AFTERS: (I wasn't totally done yet. Still had to finish dressing the trim on a few spots I missed, but I wanted to take the pictures before the sun went down so there were a few tiny things left to do before pickup)

Nice, deep and clear.

Formerly the "Best Detailer", now just Super Wax Waster Man. Not necessarily tactful, but normally right. It's good to be da King !!!

Oh she was thrilled when she came to pick it up...I way undercharged on it, but I guess its alright to give somebody a deal once in awhile.

I used my Razor Cut 1000 by hand in there, followed it with ssr2 and a wax. I dont know why but it seems like the clear is much softer under the handles and I always have good luck getting those kinds of scratches out by hand.

Great recovery! That thing was trashed.

2010 Hyundai Santa Fe - Harbor Gray

Even sometimes I, in a moment of what could only be described as pure sanity, question the rationality of this obsession.

Looks great - Am sure the customer was extremely pleased with the outcome.

Why did you stop using the rotary when you went to the SSR 3? That probably took a lot longer using the PC than the rotary.

I got enough of the defects out using my Razor Cut with the wool that I just felt I could go right to PC to start getting some of the compound swirls out.
