Sully's Detailing: White Navigator (BAD SHAPE) - 10-23-2009, 12:15 PM

South Florida Premiere Detailing Service!

The whole car was gray when I started and had black runs throughout the SUV along with alot of fallout. I washed the SUV twice first time making sure I removed all the dirt with Megs Gold Car Wash and Megs APC (10:1). The second time and wash the whole car again and clayed it at the same time. After I dryed the SUV with my Cobra Waffle MF and pulled it in the garage to apply WGPS by hand. The whole SUV took me a total of 4 hours just to wash, clay, and wax.

Exterior:
Wheels: P21S wheel gel (Boars hair lug brush)
Emblems: Megs APC 10:1 (Boars hair lug brush)
Door Jams: Megs APC 10:1 (Boars hair lug brush)
All Indentations: Megs APC 10:1 (Boars hair lug brush)
Washed: Megs Gold and Bone Microfiber spong
Clay: Wolfgang
Gas Cap: Megs APC 10:1 (Boars hair lug brush)
Paint Sealant: Wolfgang Paint Sealant
Windows: Invisible Glass
Tire Dressing: Megs Hyper-Dressing 3:1

nice wash and wax but it was only dirty... I wouldn't really call it bad shape..

It is a Daily Driven car and the owners dont keep up with the vehicle there is no need for polish when it wont last more then a month or two. It would of been a waste of money for the client. also being Pearl White the swirls do not show as much as it would on a darker color vehicle

I understand with a job like that, I would have used an AIO product like PB P-w-C or P-w-S, you would have killed two birds with one stone.

I agree the white is forgiving of swirls but polish brings out the luster and takes off oxidation that your clay didn't

That's just my take on jobs like that

It will make a quick job of those type of wash and wax specials. You can sell it was a polish and seal special. I buy Steve's P-w-C by the gallon and use it on many of the cars I work on as a maintenance product

I agree with Beemerboy, PwS or PwC will make it look like you put in a lot of work when you didn't.

I like the shine of WGPS so I would have to do 2 steps instead of 1 but I will try it next time

Nice clean up.
Having two white vehicles in the family, I realize how dirty they can be and still not look all that bad.
To me the Navigator definitely looked bad to start with and definitely looked good when you were finished.
As far as product choice is concerned, you have a lot of options.
I have had good luck with Klasse AIO, Optimum Poli-Seal, Duragloss 501, Duragloss 105, Meguiar's ColorX, and several others for a one step.
When you get into the two or three step processes, I wouldn't even know where to start with the options available.
We have so many choices of really good products that just choosing one product or one line has to be mostly a matter of personal opinion.
Used properly, there has to be at the least, dozens of products that work great. Probably more like hundreds.

I was going to do a one step polish then wax on the vehicle but it was not in the owners buget so we just went with the wash, clay, wax.
