Poorboy's Detail - 2006 Mercedes S 500 - 10-10-2009, 09:22 AM

This is a 2006 Mercedes S500 – The car gets run through the automatic car washes, has 51,000 miles, and needed some attention. My oldest son JT helped me on this one, or I would not have finished in one day. I did not have time to grab a ton of correction photos, so I chose to do a couple 50/50’s for your enjoyment.

The process for the exterior was

Washed Thursday night – rinse less – 2 bucket method – PB’s S&W with cobra MF sponge
Ricardo Clay – yellow – PB’s S&W mixed 50:50 with water

Makita Rotary – 7.5” white ccs pads – PB’s SSR 2.5 x 2 (some areas I used 7.5” orange ccs pads x 1)
Flex – 6” white ccs pads – PB’s SSR 1 as a finishing polish

IPA wipe down

LSP – 2 coats of EX-P – white mf applicator pad dampened with water
Wheels cleaned rinse less – tires dressed with PB’s B&B –

Interior - Shop vac – PB’s NL on all interior leather, dash and door panels

Off to the 50/50 photos and after photos

After photos – I did my best for some sun photos, but again a little cloudy out –

Great work! I find it interesting that you used a Makita Rotary and a Flex. I assume the swirls needed the rotary power?

Looks really good. The 50/50 pictures show such a huge difference!

Red - How ya been?

I used the flex for the finishing polish and the rotary for the swirls. The Mercedes has a tough clear on it. I did not try using the Flex for removing the swirls, I went straight to the Makita.

Doing okay. Travel a lot for work now so I have little time for detailing
