96 Black rose Beretta - 10-05-2008, 10:39 PM

This is the most beautiful paint IMO. Really neat the way it changes in different light. My process is as follows
wash at hydro spray with lambswool mit and the wand soap, clay with clay magic blue clay, wash again with blue coral car wash concentrate and mit, used cyclo with L.C. orange pads and 3M rubbing compound from walmart, I was planning on following that with green polish pads and C.A.S. finessing compound but the 3M did a total knockout job all by itself so I stopped there and topped it with Collinite insulator wax. I lightly wet sanded the bird etchings with 1200 and the 3M cleaned that up very nicely, I used bondo black restore for the lower black trim, A little streaky but black again, No Touch non foaming tire care for tires and wells and collinite on hub caps. BTW the 3M product was the dustiest compound I have used to date but I just found my new one step pad and compound combo.I did'nt get involved in any heavy paint correction as I do not own a rotary yet. I plan on buying an old hood before I purchase a rotary.

The etching came out when I lightly wet sanded with 1200 but the thing on the right of the photo
we will get to repairing those after we get the paint match from GM

The car does look great but you never showed another in the sun shot. and you can still see a lot of swiling when you used the flash on your camera..

but it looks really well done..

thanks for the feedback about the sun reflection and the scratches, I shall include those pics in the future. That was the trunk lid with the marring on it.
