Clean Dean vs. 2 Black Pickups today ... - 06-02-2008, 10:00 PM

Ford HD F-150 & Chevy PU Black

Today I had my hands full with 2 Black P/U trucks. One extended cab with a 8 foot bed (04 Chevy) and the other was a quad cab (07 Ford F-150 HD Edition). Both were washed then clayed with AM blue claybar.

Then both were buffed with Hi- Temps Heavy cut Leveler and the material was worked considerably longer on the Chevy due to some real heavy wash scratches on the vehicle. I followed with 3M Ultrafina on both finishes and both were sealed with Klasse SG.

I detailed the Harley Davidson F-150 approximately 4 months ago, and was very happy with how well the finish has held up over that time. Pretty cool 22” aftermarket wheel package on this beast !!!

Looks awesome. I can't believe you were able to go straight to Ultrafina. Great job.

joyriide1113,

One thing I like about Hi Temp's Levelers is that they really polish out fine if you work them long enough. I spent quite a bit of time on the Chevys finish to level out as many swirls as possible before going to Ultrafina.

Both look great, another nice job, I am with Dave here I did one of these top to bottom in a day and it killed me, could not imagine two.

I like beer. On occasion I will even drink a beer to celebrate a major event such as the fall of communism or the fact that our refrigerator is still working.

Good job on both Dean! When you detail for a living you find yourself doing two vehicles a day to put food on the table. I would have been beat also.
