Jngrbrdman at SEMA 2009 - 11-08-2009, 03:36 AM

I had a great time at SEMA this year!! I got to hang out in the Autogeek booth all week and talk shop with people who walked by and do my best to convert them from their dad's old car care training to a better way to treat their vehicles. I was very happy to be able to do this in a booth that displayed some of the best products in the industry. Having the flagship PBMA products (wolfgang, pinnacle, diamondite, detailer's pride, and XMT) to show them and talk about made things a lot easier.

I had planned on posting pictures on a daily basis, but I was so busy in the Autogeek booth that I didn't even get to walk around and see even a quarter of what was on display at SEMA this year. I did take the opportunity to take a few of some things that got my attention anyway, so here they are.

This one I thought was interesting. They blended two Mustangs together to create this one.

This one was cool too. They did a lot of painting on the carbon fiber hood, but they faded it down so you could still see it underneath.

There were a lot of 'rat' paint jobs on display this year. Flat black, grey, blue, white... you name it. That flat look is really popular. Even the shiny cars had flat black strips on them. A lot of people asked me what they could do to care for it and I didn't really have much of an answer. There isn't really anything out there designed to care for flat paint, so I didn't really have any suggestions beyond just keeping it clean.

Anyway, I had a great time. Next year is going to be even better! I was talking to Mike Phillips about plans for the booth next year and I think it is going to be awesome.

If you get a chance to go to SEMA then definitely do it. It is a great time. Thanks to the Autogeek staff for letting me hang with them all week and help promote their products. It was a lot of fun and I loved it!! Here are some pictures of the Autogeek staff and visitors in the booth. This is definitely the happening place to be! At any one time there would be half a dozen "celebrities" in our booth. From owners of companies like Griot's Garage and Ragg Top to product developers like the creator of the Edge pads or the guys from Lake Country. We had Forrest from Mother's hanging out, Richard Griot stood at the podium talking to people for a few hours, we had TV cameras there for interviews... It was amazing!!

If I could remember the program that was filming then i'd tell you, but here they are with Mike Phillips talking about the Premium line Wolfgang.

Doug from Grit Guard explaining their pad washer

Richard Griot explaining products

Dwayne showing the Diamondite products

Max showing off the new wheel brush

Autogeek had a huge booth where we could bring people back and sit down to discuss new product lines and connect with vendors or customers

In the photo with Mike is Bryan Fuller from Speed Tvs 2 Guys garage. The more known name for that show is Sal Memmelo. Took me an hour on dialup to figure out where Id seen him before.
