Exterior Lighting - 02-21-2009, 06:07 AM

Do you guys check the exterior bulbs on a regular basis? I make a habit of it at least once a month if not more frequently. On my Santa Fe there are individual front and rear side marker lights that most owners don't even know exist. The front ones are in the bumper and if the light is blown or not on, it just looks like a reflector, which it doubles as. You'd never guess there was a light in there. Same with the rear. It's integrated just forward of the tail/brake light and looks just like a reflector.

I'm super picky about this kind of stuff. Anybody else?

Even sometimes I, in a moment of what could only be described as pure sanity, question the rationality of this obsession.

I do not check them often enough but I do not see many burned out bulbs as in the past. The bulbs seem a lot more reliable in the last 5 years. It is rare to have a bulb failure. I still have spare bulbs from the 90's cars where I had to buy 2. I just need to throw them away...what others may sell at yard sale or flea market.
