Question Quick PDR Question ? - 12-29-2008, 09:58 PM

I put a small dimple about 1/2 inch above the door handle on the rear door of my Ram Quad Cab. Is this too close to the handle for a PDR tech to work his magic? It's OK with me if he has to drill a hole and cover it with a body plug.

If you find a really good one, I think it would be a pretty easy thing to fix.
I had one repaired on a van that was actually between the window and the rear edge of the front door. It was only about an inch from the window and two inches from the door edge pinch weld.
The guy raised up some of the weather stripping to drill the hole, did the work, plugged the hole, replaced the weather strip. You would never know anything had ever been there or that a repair had been made.
Like other true craftsman, some are much better than others.

Charles,

Thanks for the reply. The PDR tech that I go to has be able to repair all of the dents in my vehicles except for one. That one was right at the edge of the tailgate of one of my trucks. My wife had hail damage to her Toyota Tacoma last summer. When he was done, not *even* I could find one dent and I knew exactly where each was. He also found some damage that I didn't see.

I have always been pretty fussy (not a quite anal) about my vehicles. Been that way for 50 years and I haven't changed.

I see that your 7,000th post will be coming up soon. How do you plan to celebrate?

Tom

I agree with Mr. W. Sounds like your PDR guy is pretty good. I have had it done a few times as well (hail damage mostly) and I have had very good luck with PDR as well.

I don't believe in grit guards.

I have a friend that works in a body shop and I have watched him use the glue it was amazing.
After pulling the dents it was hail damage all over the roof and he poured a small amount of liquid around the cup waited a few seconds and just pulled them off by hand
When he was done the roof looked good you would not know anything had ever happened.
