Magnaflow true duals - 12-12-2008, 06:52 PM

After listening to bucu vids on youtube and searching threads on other forums, I've narrowed my decision down to Magnaflow true duals for my truck.

My setup will be to remove stock Y pipe, run 2.5" pipe with a Magnaflow 14" DI/DO build in x muffler and 4x18" slash SS tips. I'm leaving the cats alone.

Anyone here running this setup, preferably on a 5.4 F150?

On my 5.2 L Dakota, I have Magnaflow dual exhaust. Everything after the converter is custom. I bought ithe truck used and it had glass packs but had to replace it due to holes in exhaust since I could not pass the vehicle inspection.

The bad thing is the chrome tips are have pitting now due to the heat/moisture. I want to get these replaced with something more durable.

Mines 14 inches ...I don't know the model number but after looking at the web site each application is a bit different...I got the polished stainless steel...helps to keep the rust from forming...also I like shiny

I've had all kinds of after market mufflers...the maga is one of the best that I've seen...the only other one that I looked at was Borla...top end stuff

Borla is alittle out of my price range. My boss has an 05 FX4 F150 with SI/SO Borla cat-back. Sounds nice but too tame for my tastes.

Chrome looks good but it's like black, you have to stay on top of them. Even more with the rear tires splashing junk all over them.

I plan on investing into stainless tips. Cost more initially but last a long time and IMO, look better than chrome.

I think I am going to get the tips replaced with stainless steel.
