Hood stuck on 1990 Acura - 12-19-2005, 07:22 AM

I have a 1990 Acura Integra with a V-6, and my hood is stuck. The release inside will open it partially, but once this is done the release outside will not move to open it. I have tried pushing it to the side, but not too hard as I never noticed that I had to do that before. I have tried spraying WD-40 up underneath the partially opened mechanism to no avail. There are no visible distortions or dents in the area

1) Integra's never came with more than 4 cylinders.
2) I'd certainly bring it to a mechanic.

has your car been exposed to extreme cold recently? when was the last time you opened your hood?

It's a healthy addiction. I can stop any time I want. No really.

presuming u live in a cold climate, maybe water/ice/snow got into the hinges and ended up freezing.

maybe u should try starting up the engine and driving it for a few minutes.

i dont know. im not mechanic. people keep talking aboiut snow and salt that it makes me start to wonder and believe it actually exist. but im just a hot flroidian with sweat stains.

Normally when you pop your hood from inside does it release all of the way (I’m not familiar Integras)? If so hit it with your fist not very hard just fast or push it down a little and let it up fast it should come loose it may take a few tries. This is a constant problem with a lot of gms we have had.
