I`m just getting into detailing (just bought a PC) and I was wondering how much of an improvement I can make on this scuff mark. It`s just deep enough that I can barely catch my fingernail on it. What would be the best product to use on the PC - ScratchX? Sorry about the pollen - just washed it yesterday and I woke up to this, lol.

    Probably.

I would try something like #80 and then reevaluate

I would try ScratchX first. If it doesn`t do anything you can try some rubbing compound. I`ve had excellent results using the cheap Turtle Wax rubbing compound. Just make sure you have some polishing compound around (like ScratchX!) to clean up the haze.

I would say Scratch X as well. You could step up a more aggressive approach with a compound and a cutting pad or your choice, 3M or MEGS will do.

I have not tried Scratch X but I agree with starting with a mild or moderate polish first and dont try and remove it all at the first pass

I`ve used ScratchX before and it is a good product. However, judging by the photos, it looks like your going to need to use a more aggressive first and then maybe finish up with ScratchX.
