Ok boys and girls, how many of you wind up with overspray on your paint when you apply aersol tire dressing? Raise your hands.

    That`s ok. I have a solution.

Take a card board box. Cut one side so it lies flat. Then cut the flaps off one side (either the top or bottom). Then stick that cut edge in your wheel well forming an arch around your wheel well but not touching the tire. You will have to mold the cardboard a little around the wheel well. Make sure your box is big enough.

Now you have your tire in its own little cave so to speak. Spray your tire and you`ll see all the mist stays in one place instead of blowing on your car. Keep the box there for like 30 seconds or so and then pull out. You`ll have a perfecrly covered tire with zero overspray.

I also use a Wheel Shield to prevent spraying my wheels or brakes.

I use this all the time and it works beautifully. Hopefully this makes sense. I don`t have a pic to show you.

I just use one of those foam tire dressing sponges. I spray the dressing on it at close range, and then wipe. :up

hhhhmmmm, I didn`t know you can spray aerosol on the foam applicators. I have regular trigger spray tire dressing as well but they all have petroleum distillates in them so I don`t use them. I have 303 and Vinylex, but they are too thin and run right off the applicator and make a mess.

Yeah, I`d think you`d end up spraying your hand and forearm. I use EO tire swipes and EO Wet, so I shoot a squirt or two right on the swipe, but it does start to drip by the 3rd tire.

I put about a 1/4" of tire dressing in a 3 pound coffee can, dip the dressing sponge and press against the side of the can to remove excess. Works well for me.
