    Just wondering how many MFs are necessary to do a basic cleaning a car..a lot from what I am counting since you can`t resuse towels for different items

    1 - to help blot dry spots

    1 - for windows

    2 - for AIO (buff on, buff off)

    2 - for SG (1 to buff on, one to buff off)

    2 - to clean leather and dash

    2 - to condition leather

    1 - to protect dash

    I`m not counting the towels for SMR and other items, but man I think the woman`s gonna be mad when she see the credit card bill for this month. Maybe a shiney car will please her.

    For items like the dash and seats that aren`t too big, can you cut a MF in half or smaller sections or is this a no-no?

    Spread out your purchases over a few months...easier to hide that way

    I will say it again...YOU can not have enough MFs!:xyxthumbs

    Hi medic,

    I wouldn`t recommend cutting your micro fiber towel in half or cutting it at all. If cut the micro fiber towel it will begin to fray and eventually you will have to throw them out prematurely. You could use just one 16" x 16" micro fiber towel to do your whole interior. The micro fiber towel itself is easy to clean and it dries quickly. In the long run it will save you money. Depending on the quality of the micro fiber towel, it should last you through 300-400 washes. Of course, that also depends on the application your using your micro fiber towel.

    Yeah, I wasn`t too big on the idea of cutting the cloths, but I thought it might be possible.

    I thought that each MF should be used only for one purpose even after washing. That is you use the same MF for the same task every time (one dedicated to waxing for it`s life, one dedicated to drying, etc)

    Hi Medic,

    That is correct. You wouldn`t want to use a micro fiber towel you used to buff off wax on your interior. You should use one for each purpose.

    You can never have enough mf`s ........... that much is true, but I don`t have that much money :-)

    This is how I was planning this out a few hours ago:

    Polishing = 3 microfibers

    Klasse All In One = 2

    Klasse Glaze = 2

    Waxes = 2

    Platinum Polish = 2

    Platinum Sealent = 2

    Quick detailing = 3

    Spare (incase you drop one) = 3

    I only have two now :nixweiss

    at least 30 MF`s. For normal weekly maintenace, that`s waaaaaay more than you`ll need, but come time for a full fledged attack on the paint, I seem to run out. You can never have too many!:xyxthumbs

    Yea, I have 48 Royal Velvet towel squares and I don`t even use 1/4 of them. When I buy microfibers I`ll buy a little more cost efficent.

    i`ve got 14 and its plenty, but i`ve got a relatively small car, so i don`t need multiple towels for buffing, drying, etc. One person you might want to contact for microfiber towels is jtintern@hotmail.com. I put a review of them under my new microfiber towels. He sells towels that appear to be from the same distributor as neatitems with the label of "microtouch" and sells them for much cheaper. Check it out and you may be able to get all the towels you need without spending too much.
