I dried all my Micro-fiber cloths in the dryer the other day.

But when I removed them from the dryer I realized that there was a softner/dryer sheet that must have been left over from a previous load.

    Are the micro-fibers ruined?

Why is it bad to put a dryer sheet in with them while you are drying them?

I had read that fabric softener sheets can destroy the positive charge that our microfiber towels have which helps them pick up dirt. With that said, I wouldn`t be too concerned about that IMO. You only made the mistake once, and I personally think the most important characteristic of MF is its softness that makes it paint-safe (not so much its ability to pick up dirt). I would just do what the people above recommended by trying to wash them again in order to release any particles that may have gotten stuck in the fibers. I myself have made different mistakes while washing MF, and like others have recommended, when in doubt, just do the CD test. Rub the MF in question on a brand new CD and see if it scratches it. If it doesn`t, then you are good to go.
