I detailed my MIL`s S80 this weekend and man was it an eye opener. I didn`t expect it to be too difficult of a detail cuz she keeps it in pretty good shape. I had two days to do it as she was out of town so that was nice. I started Saturday morning around 9:30 and finished the first coat around 5PM....just before dark. Here`s my method:

Wash with CG and two bucket system using sheepskin mitts

Wheel wells got degreaser with a scrub brush and then coasted with Mothers Hot Shine.

Wheels were washed with DG AWC (I had to use a flat peice of wood with an MF wrapped around it to get around the lugnuts. I was gonna take the wheels off but couldn`t find my lugwrench)

Clay car, wheels and glass with Mothers Clay

    Polish first with ScratchX

    Followed with Mothers Power Polish

(This seems to be a method that is working out really well for me.)

    One coat of DG PBA

    One coat of DG #105

    Interior:

    Shampoo carpet

    Clean and condition leather seats

Clean all plastic and wood grain with DP Interior Cleaner

DP Protectant on dash and surrounding areas.

    Stoners on all inside glass

It rained it`s *** off all weekend so most of the pics are from inside the garage which don`t really show the tru outcome of the car. I am very happy with the way it turned out though. The paint was harder then I expected it to be. I had to work a lot harder than I have in the past to get the paint where I wanted it to be. I had to leave some swilrs in it cuz I just oculdn`t figure out a way to get them out.....oh well. I got probably 90-95% of them out. Good thing they like me!! LOL!!

Followed up Sunday morning with another coat of DG #105. While I was waiting for that coat to dry I met 35TH LE to purchase the half a can of CG5050 he was selling. It was my first time meeting him and he`s a really nice guy! We talked for a few minutes but he had things to do and I had to finish the car. Hopefully we can hook for a beer or three and talk about detailing and life!

I will go over next weekend and hit it with some AW to make it even wetter....I LOVE THAT STUFF!! So...here`s the pics. Thanks for all the help guys!! As always, any and call comments are appreciated!!

Great stuff!! The Duragloss looks really nice on the silver, the wheels really finish it off nicely!!

Did you use power polish and scratchX by hand or machine??
