ok guys, help me out here please. I own a nice 01 Honda Valkyrie and its been in storage all winter and now its time to give it a service and clean the dust and winter funk. I am looking for suggestions on how to clean paint, chorme and aluminum. What products to use and what to stay away from, do you have any tips or tricks and in what order do you clean what items. Whats the best way to get bugs off lexan, paint and chrome.

Have to bump this...
Just picked up the new love of my life haha
Brand new 2009 R6s. So far I've installed brighter bulbs, taken off some stickers, integrated tail light, and few bits and pieces here and there. I have a D&D c/f exhaust on the way as well as a few other mods. Only 200 miles on it after a week of ownership Need to get out more and ride farther away haha.
Anyway, pics when I picked it up below. I'll be shooting some better quality photos when the bike gets the few mods that are on the way.

Then I got a screaming deal on my first bike, a little known Yamaha Radian (YX600). The thing was geared like a dirt bike and would wheelie past all of my friends on Vtwin cruisers. The next bike was a Honda CBR600 F3 (in Euro colors), then a Yamaha R1, and finally a CBR600RR. I have been thinking long and hard about getting a new R1, or I may get a used one and use the extra money to buy an older Yamaha VMax to compliment it.

Something that I don't think gets enough discussion or attention is gear. Even being from Illinois, a state that doesn't have helmet laws, I won't ride without one anymore. I'm also a firm believer in good jackets, gloves, etc. Road rash isn't something I want to fool around with.
Here's my HJC helmet, Joe Rocket jacket & gloves, Icon riding jeans, and steel toe boots. I have a pair of Sidi boots, but they are so uncomfortable that I can't ride with them.

Great point. I grew up in Chicago and we never wore helmets (let alone any protective gear). When I first moved to Florida they had a helmet law (which I was against at first) but soon came to respect the law.
As I grew a little older I started wearing a textile jacket, gloves, and ICON jeans, even in the humid Florida summers (would never ride with out them). Too many things can happen!

Its like adding another 15 degrees to yourself during the summer, but I don't mind. Fooling around in traffic gets really hot, but once your out of town and up to highway speeds its not bad at all. I don't wanna be doing 65mph and know that if I fall, there's a 100% chance Im gonna hurt really bad.
