BF Crystal Seal on Chrome wheels

Trying to avoid having to buy another product. For those of you who have tried BFCS on Chrome wheels, how did it hold up/perform as far as protection and making them easier to clean? Thanks!

It will work fine. The problem is, is won`t hold up well to most wheel specific cleaners. It will hold up for a bit of you clean your wheels with car wash.

I have found just using any type of wax on your chrome wheels during a maintenance wash does help keep them cleaner and easier to clean.

Because I usually use Mothers Back to Black Tire Renew to clean tires I am not usually using strong cleaners on the wheels (just car soap), my routine seems to work.

As the other gents mentioned, you will be susceptible to high heat from the wheel area as well as chemicals, depending how you clean your wheels.

I seal my wheels twice per year with either Coll 845 or BF All Metal Sealant. I get the tires good and clean with Tuf Shine at this time also. Between these sealings, I only use diluted DG901 in a spray bottle to clean both the wheels and tires (or rinseless wash solution if I am doing a RW). The tires hold up pretty well between heavy cleanings as well because I used water based dressing with UV protectant, so harsh cleaner usually isn`t necessary.

A little off track there, but BFCS should do a nice job of protecting your wheels especially if you don`t clean with harsh chemicals that would strip. The heat, I`m not sure about. I would recommend at least IronX`ing and claying the wheels and then apply 2 coats of BFCS 1 hour apart to ensure best bonding. Then see how it holds up from there.

Everyone has given you great advice here. With how easy it is to apply, I would reapply BFCS every time you wash your car/clean your wheels.

Thanks everyone. I think Ill pull the wheels and polish the inner barrels while I`m at it and then give them a couple of coats of CS. I have BF apc deluted down I think 4/1 right now for a light cleaner. Or..just see how they clean up with a brush and car soap/water once they have a coating on them. It`s a new C7 so it`s pretty much a garage queen anyways.

After you seal them with CS, I wouldn`t use APC at 1:4 (unless you plan to reapply after every wash, but I think that is a waste of an expensive product, personally...no offense Ray). I`d go at least 1:10 or even weaker if you are going to clean the wheels with it after you seal them. Keep in mind, once you seal them, if they are withstanding the heat, you will have no problem cleaning them with just your regular carwash soap. I use 1/2 oz. in a 32 oz. spray bottle then fill the rest of the way with water. Spray each wheel down, let sit a minute or so, MF mitt on the face of the wheels, then speedmaster on the barrels. The dirt comes right off for me with this method as long as the sealant is in good shape.

Good point here. My method in previous post is when I do a 2BM. When I do a RW I do the wheels at the very end with remaining RW solution and a black MF. They clean right up.

Why not just run reload or hydro, reload seems to take most apc`s pretty well.

Appreciate all the tips. Pretty new to all the detailing "science". The more I read, the more things I want to try and that gets expensive fast!
I`ll try either the rinseless if they are not too dirty or I`ll dilute the apc to 1:10 as advised. I certainly have no issues making the bottle last longer. Hard to get used to the "sometimes less is more" method.

I used all the BF stuff on my wheels.. they work great but HYDRO2 is the bomb as it`s as easy as it gets...wash, spray wet,- respray -dry...
