    New car suggestions

    Hi,
I`ve had my 2015 Subaru WRX for 3 weeks now. The build date is 9-14. Outside of washing it, should I do anything else or wait another month? I did wash the car and put some Fusion wax on it so far.
I hear Subaru`s have soft paint. Is this true?
    Thanks much,

    Ara

"Should" really depends on you. I`d say give it a full decon/light polish/coating and top with Füzion whenever you want that extra pop. However the above route also requires a number of tools and products you may not have the budget for.

What are you hoping to achieve? Do you own a DA? What part of the world do you live in? What color is your Subie? Post a few photos, Ara!

I ask the above because those of us in a norther climate are all deciding on what we`re going to protect our rides with going into winter. While our southern friends laugh at us and talk about sun screen and bbq`s

Let us know and we`ll go from there

You almost sound like you`re waiting for the paint to cure. The paint leaves the factory fully cured.

As Setec has stated, you are good to go for applying any-all protectants.

Not sure where you`re located, but in many parts of the country the cold weather is right around the corner. Inspect and look all things over for your own reassurance, check fluid levels, air in tires including the spare, washer fluids, etc etc.

Often, many new vehicles today don`t come with much in the way of floor mats. If not, get those as soon as possible before snow and salts can damage the interior carpeting. For trunk-cargo areas, a inexpensive means to protect those areas is a carpet remnant from a carpeting business, and simply cut to fit.

Some form of glass coatings will be an aid to driving in inclement weather as well as making snow-ice removal a bit easier.

I commonly winter prep my vehicles and do any needed services beforehand, this way all I have to basically worry about through the winter months is gasoline.
    Hope this helps.

I have a 2012 subie in the family, here is what I did..............

    http://www.autopiaforums.com/forums/...ial-guest.html

The paint is soft, it swirls easily and that is why I went for the best mar resistant coating I knew of. Very happy I did and I would do it again the same way. Got a good 2 years in beading and protection is still there, its easy to wash, and nothing sticks.

    Good luck

    Hi ALL,

I live in SoCal. I do own a PC DA, applicators, an assortment of nice towels, etc.
I`ve done a very nice job maintaining my cars for the past 20 years, but a "newbie expert" I work with was trying to tell me that paint doesn`t cure for 2 months. I`ve never heard this so just checking with you guys.
What I usually do (with my new cars) is wash, clay, wash, apply Black Fire Sealant (favorite current) with my DA. Next time I wash apply another coat of Black Fire. After that, apply Fuzion once a month.
I`ll post pics of my car. It`s Galaxy Blue Pearl.
Any other ideas, let me know.
    Thanks,

    Ara

They are all are correct your paint is cured already. Buy a light polish ie. HD Polish, Optimum Hyper Polish, Menzerna SF4000, or Wolfgang Finishing Glaze and have at it with some polishing pads, after washing and claying if needed of course.

Then it`s your choice to either coat it, seal it, or wax it.
