using hydro 2 on wheels - advice please

just got 100ml delivered today and want to use this on my cray wheels before I remount them..

So I`mn gonna try this unless the pros here say otherwise:

    1. wheels are clean from brake dust and off the car....will wash and dry well with Carpro reset
    2. spray the whole wheel with 3:1 Hydro2
    3. spray the wheels hard with water stream
    4. dry with waffle weave

Is this what you guys experienced with hydro 2 would do?

Sounds good. Just make sure you are applying it to a wet surface then rinse off with a strong jet of water. No need to dry after washng with shampoo.

    Is the CarPro Reset necessary?

I was looking to switch to HydrO2 for my wheels but I wasn`t planning on purchasing the Reset.

Why not coat them, then use hydro for maintenance?

Anybody have a definitive answer for the possible effects of coatings/hydro on the efficacy of sticky wheel weight adhesives?

Coatings should have no effect on the wheel weight adhesives. I love using hydr02 on wheels, and use it on almost all the wheels I do unless I coat them, but it does make a nice topper for coatings also. Your process sounds fine, just wash them good, then 1-2 sprays on the wheel and power wash it off and your good to go! Can`t get much easier.

thanks, I did them this morning - and probably used way to much on each wheel - I notice you said a few sprays a wheel, I used more than that...does it really spread around for good coverage with just a few per wheel?...it`s so foreign to think that this would do it, but I trust those that say so.......

Always been my reason for not coating the barrels

I hadn`t had a problem with OC`ed barrels loosing weights. So, I wouldn`t worry about it too much. The wheel weight glue is pretty sticky.

I`ve used Hydro2 & Permanon on my wheels. I haven`t found much difference - other than Permanon is much cheaper. So, I`ll stick with that.

Both of them seem to be quite diminished by high pH wheel cleaners. Both are not affected by regular pH wheel cleaners (7).

Yeah you really don`t need to use a lot, as it does spread pretty well when you spraying it off. I typically give 2-3 sprays on a wheel when i do them.

Re: using hydro 2 on wheels - advice please

I used Hydr02 on my new wheels prior to mounting and cleanup is a breeze. I`m not using wheel cleaner at all, just a quick spray of S&W or ONR (whatever is close by) and they come sparkling clean by just giving them a stern look.

I will say that I used a LOT more than the guys on here recommend. I went through 25ml on the 4 wheels including barrels, but I really doused the barrels while they were off because they are hard to reach installed.
