    Prep for Cquartz UK

Plan to use Cquartz UK on my new car. The plan is to correct the paint by washing, then claying, then using Meguiar`s Ultra Finishing Polish M205 with a Griots random orbital. If all is corrected would wipe down to clean off any residual polish and apply the Cquartz.

Is there any advantage to another step to increase the gloss such as Menzerna Micro Polish SF 4500 prior to applying the cquartz, or am I overthinking this?

    Thanks.

Do a panel and see, I think it`s overkill

Only you can really make that judgement call, get a good swirl finder light and look at the paint after M205, if you`re not satisfied then you could go for SF4500 but I`m with glen e, I think it`s overkill.

Just wanted to know if there was anything else I should do. Once the Cquartz goes on can`t do anything unless I remove it and start over. That is not very appealing.

    Thanks for the input

Depends on the color. If it`s white, silver or a light color, it`s over kill cause you won`t see much difference. If it`s black or a dark color, it might be worth the extra effort to use 4500 after 205.

If your not jeweling the 4500 with a rotary then I`d say no. Just stick with 205, the gloss from cq uk is definitely enough.

CQUK is blindingly glossy by its self. And actually you can do a lot to it! Use reload to spruce it up, or hydro H20. I will say on my car its holding up insanely well and I`m purposely going 2-3k miles between washes. I haven`t had to decon it one time because nothing sticks to it. Do 2 layers and hour apart and top with reload. All you will be saying is OH MY GLOSSSSSSS

Would you say this because SF4500 is such an ultra fine polish, that it is sort of ineffective with a DA, or is it perhaps you feel M205 finishes down quite well enough on its own making SF4500 redundant? Or?

In this post, after compound and polish, Carpro Relect was used as a gloss enhancer.

Exactly, with a da it`s more redundant.
