A little tip, thought I`d share (scents/air fresheners)

posted this over at AG, but figured I`d post hee too, and so i can get in on the new wax giveaway!!! hahaaha

Here`s a tip I actually took from a Bed, Bath and Beyond of all places.....

    Reed Diffuser
How to Use Reed Diffusers & Available Fragrances ? Pier 1 Imports

personally I love all the CG scents the offer, especially the green apple one.

What I do is I keep the air fresheners in their concentrated form(all cg scents need dilutions at least when I buy them in their retail store they do), but I keep them in their concentrated form, and I dip the reed diffusers into it, and then place them under the seats front and passenger. Technically its not the correct way to do it, but if you give them a decent soak they will retain a pleasant odor for days!!!! plus it saves spraying a ton of freshener like a mad person and saves some product!

I recently did this on a quick wash, clay wax job, I through in the interior cleaning for free(because wanted to try some stuff out) and actually left 3 reed diffusers with CG Jasmine scent on them in the persons car. I get an email them days laters saying the love the smell, and what I did to make it last....

    so try reed diffusers!

I am sure someone else smarter than I has thought of this, but figured I`d share none the less!

    Happy Friday all!!!

kool thanks for the tip. I plan on having at least 3 different scents on deck so people can start choosing what they want

Good idea. I`m just not so big on leaving something behind in a vehicle tho. My luck it would cause a power seat to break and I would be fixing that.

I wouldn`t worry too much, reed diffusers come in many sizes, and when i say soak, it`s not like product will be dripping anywhere as the reed absorbs the liquid and scent. In fact I`m sure just a couple sprays of a scent on a reed would suffice.

Plus they`re tiny little rods, if you were to leave them under a seat, I couldn`t imagine it doing any damage. I have electric fancy seats in my car and I leave reeds there, never an issue....but thats just me

As always do what`s best and works for you, but give it a shot on your personal ride, see how you like it before you attempt on a clients automobile!

    Thanks for tip.

I like CG Stripper but I feel it only lasts for 2 days.

I have to get of of cigarette smell from a Mustang, going for coffee beans and a glass of vinegar and leave it in the car for a day. Not sure how this will work out, maybe Fabreze.

If you`ve got a steam cleaner that`s the best way to go. Those smells are trapped in the upholstery and especially the headliner. The steam will break down the bacteria causing the odor rather than just masking it. There are also spray products that will break down the bacteria as well.

Also for air fresheners i spray a couple mists in the ac vents as well as in the carpet under the seats. I don`t think the spray in the vents harms anything at all.

My wife has these in our house and I never considered using them for the car. Thanks for the tip.

well smoke will certainly kill any fresh odor imo....

however try this method w/ the reeds, i`m sure you will notice a scent in the car for more than two days, but with smoking, who knows....and with smoke odor, probably need an ozone generator to get rid of the smell....

Thanks for the reed idea. I`m going to buy a bundle and see how they work. Sounds like a great idea.
