I use it all the time with no ill effects. It is a very weak solvent.
I have had more bad effects from cleaners like Simple Green and others because they are sometimes too strong and they dull paint or trim if some of it gets splashed on it.
I do use simple green but I am extremely careful.

It would be bad to pour it on the door jambs and then just leave it there. If you wipe it off after and use a QD to be double sure then you should be fine. As long as its not brake fluid or carb cleaner then your paint should be pretty safe.

I just realized that I can attach .txt files. It won't have the links in it though. Let's see if this works....

Thanks Jngrbrdman, it's sort of a Detailing Bible , lol. Very useful for me and I'm sure for others starting out as well. Your effort is much appreciated

Thanks again

Although I have a few variations that I use in the detailing process, I think this guide is very informative. I like DC because you can formulate your own opinions from what others are doing to their cars. Great job on the tutorial.

So when are you going to add pictures to this thing? It would be a lot more effective and useful if you had pictures detailing some of the processes you talk about. This would easily be a 30 page manual if you set it up right. I finally got a chance to sit down and read it all. :lol Quite the read.

Fuzz, I've been meaning to, but I've been super busy with the new baby and all. I haven't had the time to get out there and detail like I did last year. I really wish I could though. If anyone has any pictures that are good before/after type pictures relating to anything that I wrote, then could I borrow them for purposes of making this article more of a kick ass detailing gude? It would help me out a ton if you could lend your shots to me.

I loaded this article onto www.ocdetails.com in the OCD University section. I will most likely be adding the pictures of the different steps in there. Its easier to add them there anyway. Hopefully it will be useful if you want to see what I'm talking about.

Clay link....? - 07-30-2004, 01:02 AM

after reading your post on detailing, I would love to read your post on claying. Where can I find it?
