I would forget about the Yellow pads and just stick with Orange, White, and Blue CCS. The Yellow pads IMO leave behind micromarring that will have to be polished out afterward to achieve a nice finish. The Orange pads in some cases also leave behind some hazing, but they actually finish very well. Personally I never use Yellow. If you are just going to order a 6 pack I would get 2 of Orange, 2 of White, and 2 Blue.

2-3 of each color is all you will need in most cases to polish a vehicle. I clean/brush my pads regularly during polishing to keep the caking away.

ya but the problem is the scion tc that ima be working on has very bad swirls and i dont wanna spend alot of time on the car so i figured if i used a yellow pad along with xmt swirl remover number 3 and follow with xmt swirl remover one with a white pad i should be fine. then id top it of with the xmt glaze along with nattys blue paste wax

I assure you that the Orange pad will work just as well as the Yellow pad. You can buy Yellow pads if you want, but the Orange pads are much more versatile, moving forward, than the Yellows are.

ua, you don't mention what your tool of choice is for polishing. Rotary? Flex? PC? Are you only concerned with this specific vehicle or multiple vehicles going forward?

I can tell you that since I picked up my orange pads I rarely reach for my yellows. But, when you need a yellow and time is of the essence, then that's the pad you need. Yeah, you're going to have to follow that pad up to get the finish right but it can still save you time, and I usually follow up my orange pad as well.

If you think you need (or want) a yellow pad, buy one. You sure can't use what you don't have and you'll never know if you like them or not.
