Rinseless wash area at one time -

When using a rinseless wash, how large of an area do you wipe without dipping the wash media back in the rinseless solution or rinse bucket.
I will usually do 1/4 section of roof or hood (maybe 2 x 2 or slightly larger), flip the plush microfiber or dreadlock style mit over, and finish the remaining 1/2 section before rinsing.

It varies with how dirty the vehicle is, but I typically will do 1/2 the roof or 1/2 the hood, then toss the mitt in the rinse bucket and dry that section. After I finish drying that section I remove the mitt from the rinse solution, wring it out, dip it in the wash solution and proceed to the next section.
FWIW, I use the same mix for my rinse water as I do for the wash water. This was suggested by another user to keep from diluting the wash solution with rinse water.
Some exceptions:
1. A cool day when the solution is not drying too quickly on the vehicle, I might wash another area that size before I dry anything. The entire roof or the entire hood for example.
2. If the vehicle is quite dirty, I do that same section a second time before I dry it. That is rarely necessary and usually just on the lower panels.
Something I picked up from another rinseless wash user is to use a damp MF for the first drying pass to pick up most of the wash solution, then finish with a dry MF.
I also will quite often use Duragloss Aqua Wax before that final drying pass.
Wash & Wax with very little effort.

Like Charles said it depends on how dirty but I typically do all the hood or on a 4 door I do both doors.
I guess I'm not as cautious as some but I have not had any marring yet.
I like a brush but if I use a mitt I would do a door and flip it and do the other door, if the car was dirty I will clean and reload the mitt and go over it a second time.
Lately I started using rinse less wash like soap I spray the car with a hose to remove what I can then after cleaning the wheels tires and fender wells I use the rinse-less wash to wash the car and rinse with the hose.
Washing like this leaves it looking better than a soap the polymers leave a nice gloss.
My garage has a drain and furnace so water on the floor is of no concern it will soon dry.

I work the sponge like you do, but do larger section before drying - I clean both doors, then wipe with a damp MF (like CharlesW) and dry. I like do the entire front-end (hood, front quarters, and grill) before I dry (same for the rear when doing cars), but in our heat that is not always possible.
With ONR I only wash the roof of my truck about every 3 washes.

mc2hill, JMO but at least down here my roof surfaces take a beating equal to the hood area of my truck. I know it can be a hassle to get to the roof, but keeping it clean and protected is good preventative measure.
