Microfiber question? - 10-14-2008, 03:31 PM

Hi everyone,

Whenever I wash my car, sometimes I don't wash the waffle weaves and microfiber towels afterwards and instead, I just throw them onto the storage drawer.

Sometimes I don't have time to wash them afterwards due to time constraints and other stuff I have to do. Now I don't use the microfiber towels again though on my car until I wash them again and the towels smells and looks good as new.

Now my question is, do I need to wash the MF towels immediately after use them or else the quality will degrade? Or is it ok to use a clean microfiber on my car, throw it inside the storage for lets say a few days, and wash them?

Sometimes I can get lazy and not wash my microfiber towels for a week. Then after a week and I have free time, I would wash them and use them on my car again.

I DO NOT use dirty microfibers on my car. If they are dirty then I would wash them first before I use them again. Someone please enlightened me on this as I would like to save my MF towels and not have to throw them which is a waste of money, considering the recent thread I posted. The MF towels I use are cobra microfiber towels if that makes a difference. Thanks again!!

While I can't answer your question directly, I can tell you that I do the same thing with my MF towels except I toss them in a garbage can rather than a storage drawer.
It's a clean garbage can used only for dirty MF towels and the only thing I do is if the towel is wet, I will hang it over the side of the can till it dries or I wash a load. A week is not uncommon for them to remain unwashed.
Been doing it for years and haven't noticed any problem.

I'm with Charles and Rabbi. My towels that I use on my personal cars can lay around for a week it's always been that way. I have never had aproblem. If you feel the need just let the towels soak in the wash foer ahalf hour or add a cap of APC to your detergent.

I hang them up to dry and then throw them in a large box and since I have so many MF towels sometimes they don't get washed for a couple months.

No problem so far all towels look nearly new
