Need Advice PLEASE...

Here are some pics of my fiances old car. It has never really been polished or waxed. It sits out side in the sun every day as you can tell. What can I do to bring back the paint if possible? I would like to use some of the PB products since I just got some SSR2.5, SSR1 & Pro Polish. I plan on buying a PC 7424 soon. I plan on wet sanding the headlights & polishing them out as well. Don't mind the grass on the car, they just mowed the grass at my apartments. Thanks for any advice & help!!!

Nothing you can do for the clear coat failure but respray it. The rest you can certainly work with.

First step is to remove that bra. Those things are killers on painted surfaces.

Looks like the rest can be hit with a swirl removing polish (more than likely at least a couple of steps) and a polisher of some sort. A rotary would make short work of it, but it could be done with something like a PC as well.

The headlights look like they are peeling. You might be able to wetsand and polish them, but I don't know how long they'd stay clear.

Yep get that bra off, wash the car with a good car wash soap product: mothers,meguiars,are good choices.
deep clean/polish SSR 2.5 the whole car,follow with
SSR 1, follow that with professional polish.
protect: Mothers FX synwax is a good choice easy to
use nice deep gloss shine, easy to find over the counter
product. This paint is in pretty bad shape but you can
make it look a lot better buy doing this. The head light
assemblies may need replacing, I've never seen clear
peel off head lights? maybe they have spray on tint?
I'm puzzled. good luck with your detail.

Ok I'd do things a little different here but hey that is what makes the world go round right..

Pro-polish This does well to clean the paint.

pretty much you should be worried about swirls if you have clear coat failure as buffing will remove more so if you want that approch

and then a cleaner wax.. OTC -NXT 2.0 or FX will do fine.. I like poorboys PwS

I was going to say clay but i didn't want to ruin the clay on crapy paint.. but yes clay should be in there.

So Pro Polish first then SSR2.5 & use SSR1 as the final polish. Then a cleaner wax. Is this correct? Which pads do I use for each polish?

The clear that is peeling on the head lights is from when I had them restored. The guy did a bad job. All he did was wetsand them & spray a clear coat over them. I didn't know any better at the time.

There's no need for a cleaner wax, but if that's all the LSP you have available, then yes, it will come after all th epolishing steps.

The process looks good.

I would do pro-polish and the cleaner wax.. because of the damage. i wouldn't want to spread the damage any farther by polishing more.

You have been given some great advice here already. I’m sure you’ll be very proud of your results. Paint like this really give the “detailer” (meaning you) a chance to “SHINE” (plenty of pun intended)

You will save your self a TON of work by getting your PC 7424 before you start this project. Poorboy’s SSR 2.5 with a polishing pad (colors vary by manufacture) can do amazing things. You may need to go over the car twice with it if you’re not completely happy with the results after the fist pass.

Once you’re though you’ll use your SSR1 to “clean” everything up and remove fine swirls left.

I’m also in favor of clay after the wash. Remember good prep is always key. I’m sorry I didn’t notice in any of your post what wax or sealants you have. There are many choices just make sure you use one. If you’re planning on sticking with a Poorboy’s product you can’t go wrong with any of them.
