replacing microfiber which product do you recommend? - 09-07-2007, 01:54 PM

Hello to All!

It has been a while since I have purchased any micro fiber products. I will soon need to replace a few of my micro fibers that I use to remove paint sealant, wax, polish etc.

Any recommendations for a good product and what sponsors distribute the micro fiber of choice.

As always thank you.

Detail City.com's Prestige MF towel or Poorboy's DMT towel are excellent for polish, wax, and even QDs.

I have the Poorboys towels and they are great..the plush ones that you would be talking about are real nice, for removing residue

Troy at DC has some great ones as well....

The same great quality as Steves

The only thing that I would caution you on is do not buy cheap towels like you see on special at Wally World or Costco type stores...IMO they are just cheap and you will end up replacing them in short order.

Yep, those MF's are hard to beat. For drying I have come to like the really soft WW MF's that several vendors offer. Some examples would be the Guzzler series from Detail City or Autogeek (many different sizes) and the Monterey from Exceldetail.

For a more conventional MF WW I like Poorboy's 24" x 36" WW.

Another vote for Poorboys DMT's & DetailCity's Prestige Polishing M/F & small soft waffle weaves for drying.

Just received a new shipment of the Prestige towels and they are sweet.

My computer that I do pictures for the site with is getting tweeked today so I will add them to the site this weekend when I get it back. They are the same as the grey and red Prestige towels but I like this color scheme better. I'll post pics soon.

Nice to see that SOMEBODY got of their new towels up today New! Prestige II 16x16 Microfiber Towel 2-Pack - New Arrivals

Nice looking towels, Troy!! I might just have to buy some as they match my car so nicely . . . or I could buy a new car to match the previous generation of Prestige that I already have

I really like the Prestige Towels although the Poorboys Plush are also very nice. And I alos like the Pakshak Ultra Plush. I think Pakshak has them on sale currently.

I actually use the Costco ones for grunge work like keeping the chrome wheels clean on a daily basis and also the inner fender well. There so cheap and they grab the light brake dust very nicely. Then when they become really dirty i use them for undercarriage work and such until they will no longer come clean, then in the trash they go.

I have many towels, including PakShak's Ultra Plush towels. It looks like the Prestige towels, and Steve's DMT's are comparable to PakShak's in quality. Any of these towels, along was some other high quality name brand towels will get the job done nicely.

In the end, spend the money for the best towels. Use them, and care for them properly, and your investment will be a wise one.

Very well put DCT . You basically get what you pay for with microfibers. I mean if you spend the extra money to buy them from our sponsors instead of at wall mart of costco they will be much better and last much longer.
