It might be dumb, but I have used it for years in the winter months. I keep a spray bottle of it in the garage and use it with an old terry towel when the vehicle windshields get messed up when it is below freezing. Works for me.

I use it also..I buy the concentrate from GM called Optikleen....it does a great job on windows..streak free... a 32oz bottle makes 2 gallons of window cleaner...I use 16oz to a gallon of water...you may even be able to use less...

Get at the GM parts counter at the dealership...about 5.00 for a bottle....

My use of windshield washer fluid for windows has been limited to winter use and to prevent frezzing.
Are you saying that you use the Optikleen solution for all your window cleaning?
In recent months, I have been using Meguiar's NXT Glass Cleaner and have been happy with it. I considered buying a gallon of Meg's Detailer Line Glass Cleaner, but since it would make 10 gallons of glass cleaner, I decided that was overkill. I doubt that I use a gallon in two years.

I had a gallon of the Megs DLG was one the hardest products that I have ever had to mix....to strong the windows streaked like crazy, to weak it didn't clean....I ended up taking it back to my detail supplier for Stoner IG

Are you buying this in the U.S.?
The dealership I usually go to doesn't have it available.
It seems like I tried to buy another GM product a few years back and it was available in Canada, but not in the U.S. Could this be the case with the Optikleen?
A Google of Optikleen brought up several Canadian suppliers, but none in the States.

Charles..I get it right at the dealership..its the concentrate not the pre mixed....here is a link to it

Window Cleaning Products - Auto Glass Cleaner : GM Goodwrench

also does under AC Delco

Appearance | Vehicle Care Products | Parts Information | ACDelco

where it says select drop it down and select optikleen

if you look at the MSDS sheets on 90% of glass cleaners..its just alc and water and a little surfacant...so why pay 4.95 for a can of that when 4.00 gives you 2-3 gallons....

hope this helps you Charles.....

Just the fact that you were getting it in the U.S. gave me enough info to pursue it further.
They don't stock it at the dealership I go to, but they can and will get it for me.
The parts person I talked to had been there for 8 years and had never heard of it before today.
If I don't like it as a window cleaner, I can still use it for the windshield washer.

Thanks!

Charles

I tried it inside my car, to prevent fading of the tint, but it did a lousy job...
Maybe if I thin it, add more alcohol and a drop of Sunlight?
