Help with polishing - 02-17-2005, 04:37 PM

I have a black G35, its about 2 years old and in great condition. How often should I polish it? Right now I use SSR1 with PorterCable+Polish Pad twice a year. For those areas with swirls I use SSR2 with Polish pad. Is that enough to keep the paint in good shape? Of course I also clay twice a year.

How about polishing by hand? Sometimes its difficult for me since I don't have a garage. What is a good polish to use? SSR1? I'm not really concerned about removing swirls when i do this, just want to keep the paint in good condition. thanks.

so your schedule must be working.

I haven't used SSR1, but Klasse AIO works great by hand and I think SSR1 does about the same amount of polishing. To me, that would indicate that SSR1 is also good to use with hand application.

A nephew of mine has a G35 and absolutely loves it. I won't drive it for fear of liking it enough to think I have to have one.

your procedures look fine and after two years if your finish is looking the way you want it to, just keep on doing what you're doing...

either SSR1 or SSR2 are both easy to use by hand if you want to..always remember to follow wind flow when polishing

life is short ..do it while you can
