    Back to Detailing...

Some of you hear may or may not remember me I as very active on these forums a few years back.

I had taken a break to focus on some other things going on in my life and have finally found the time to get back into detailing.

While I am sure that the processes have not changed much. I am in desperate need of some new product.

    1. New pads What are the latest and greatest?

    2. Chemicals (Waxes, Sealants, swirl removers...etc) I need just about everything even tire shine.

    3. I don`t want to break my bank account funds are not nearly as dispensable as they once were.

Thanks in advance for the help.
Wow .. it already feels good to be back.

(Oops I first posted this in the wrong forum. Hope this is a good place for this)

    Welcome back.

I hear Poorboy`s stuff is pretty good especially if you don`t want to break the bank.

The latest pads from Lake Country are the Kompressor pads. I love using them but their velcro backing is a little pathetic. I don`t know why they went with so little velcro on the back of these pads. If you aren`t too aggressive with your pads they would be a good choice.

My favorite pad to use right now is the Four Star Polishing pad. Soft enough not to mar but firm enough to do some good correction.

You probably aren`t up on the new buffers either. Porter Cable has updated their DA and FLEX has come up with one that is quite impressive.

Anyways, anything I can help you decide on just pm me.

(This is an attempt to answer your questions without being a salesman. It ain`t easy.)

One other pad I want to mention. The purple foamed wool pad from Lake Country. This is a nice pad to use. It allows you to buff with less effort and can get into places a foam pad can`t. I have found it to be not quite as aggressive as the orange cutting foam pads and there is a good chance you will need to go back and finish with a foam pad after using it but it does have it`s advantages.

    Re: Back to Detailing...

Glad to see there are some old faces here.

I guess its been a solid 2-3 years since I have been here. I wish I stopped in a few weeks ago. I may have stopped in at the detail meet. Although I wouldn`t dare bring my mustang in fear of being ridiculed as to how filthy it is.

Whats new in the Poorboys line up ?

And I guess im going to need some clay too..any suggestions?

    Re: Back to Detailing...

    Hey there...

Yea The rustang is in desperate need of some good ol TLC.

I would actually be ashamed to post pictures of its current condition.

I am in the process of putting an order together.

Thus far I have a few LC Compressor pads.

I need just about everything.... I`m sticking with Poorboy`s as the products never let me down in the past.
