Hi,

I have read the contents of many different types of waxes and sealants and some of them contain silicone. Is there any problems with using silicone in the wax or polish or sealants?

I was reading the Car Brite products and they all have silicone in them. Their products are not too expensive given the quantity they provide you for the $$.

I just wanted to know what the benefits and drawbacks to using silicone based products.

Thanks

The benefits are shine. Silicone oils provide shine but the more silicone oils there are the less UV protection it can provide so usually it`s a trade off.

Silicone oils are also not very stable. They will move around. They will wipe off. They will dissipate. They will dissolve. They will not last long. They are not durable.
